What is QuestOD?

QuestOD is a free video on demand service that brings you great shows from Quest and Quest Red.

What can I watch on QuestOD?

You can watch the livestream from both Quest and Quest Red channels as they happen, in real time. You’ll also be able to watch your favourite shows after they’ve appeared on the channel in catch-up for up to 30 days!

Is this service free?

Yes. Absolutely free.

On which devices can I watch QuestOD?

You can watch QuestOD on your browser from PC, Mac, Tablet and Smartphone. You can also watch QuestOD through the iOS and Android apps available for smartphones and tablets on the Apple app Store and Google Play.

Chromecast is supported on the iOS app and will soon be available for Android which will enable you to watch our shows in HD on a compatible TV. Kindle and Play Station are not yet supported.

Why can I not see all the programmes that have appeared on the channel?

On QuestOD, we are aiming to show as many of the programmes we show on the channels as possible. However, there are some instances where we do not have the contractual rights to show programmes. 

The livestream is not showing any content, only a black screen. What is happening?

For a very small proportion of the shows aired on Quest and Quest Red, we do not have the rights to show episodes on our digital platforms. When this occurs, a ‘blackout’ is applied to the livestream feed on the QuestOD website and apps for the duration of that episode. The livestream will resume as normal once the affected episode has finished airing.

Are videos available in High Definition (HD) or Standard Definition (SD)?

QuestOD has given us the capability to deliver livestreamed programming and video on demand (VOD) in HD, to provide a higher quality viewing experience. 

Is Quest in HD?

Yes, if you have a HD-enabled TV, we have HD channels on all our partner platforms: Freeview 114, Sky 144, Freesat 167, Virgin 217. We also show HD content on our own website at questod.co.uk and our QuestOD app (search QuestOD on your app store on your phone or tablet). We will maintain our standard definition channels on channel 37 on Freeview and our Quest+1 service on channel 83 (7pm-4am) at the same time as showing our HD offering at 114. We will also maintain our standard definition Virgin channel at 172.

 

Why can’t I see QuestHD on Freeview channel 114?

Currently, our QuestHD on Freeview channel 114 is not available universally across the UK & Ireland. Can I use QuestOD overseas?

The livestream and VOD content on questod.co.uk and the QuestOD iOS and Android apps are only available to view in the UK and Ireland. The service and app are not available in any other countries or regions, including Jersey, Guernsey and the Isle of Man.

Is there a recommended web browser?

QuestOD supports the latest versions and two previous versions of Chrome, Safari and Firefox, and only the current version of Edge / Internet Explorer.

I do not know when the episode, the season or the programme was shown but I would like to see if a show is available on QuestOD.

QuestOD allows you to browse by both show title and show genre. Alternatively, by clicking on the search icon at the top right hand corner of the page and typing in the name of a Quest or Quest Red show, a selection of programmes will be shown which match your search criteria.  

The video does not play, load, or shows an error message.

QuestOD and your device may not be able to communicate effectively. We recommend the following steps to try to solve the problem:

  • Check the connection to the network and that your internet service provider or mobile network is working properly.
  • Restart playback device and/or reset the router.
  • View the video by changing the browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari) or playback device (PC, smartphone, tablet).
  • Disable the adblocker, other browser extensions and toolbar (web only).
  • If you are viewing the content from the phone browser via web, try to use QuestOD app.  
  • If you are viewing content from mobile app, please try using your phone's browser.
  • Delete data from the browser cache and reload the page (web only).

How do I clear the cache and delete cookies?

This can be managed in your browser by going to ‘Tools’ and selecting ‘clear history’, ‘clear cookies’ or ‘clear browsing data’. Use the ‘Help’ function in your browser menu for instructions on how to do this for your specific browser.

I am seeing a ‘500 error’

QuestOD is down. We apologise for the inconvenience, please come back soon. 

The show page doesn’t have any video to watch.

If a show page doesn’t show any available video, it’s because the episodes are no longer available to view. Most of our shows are available for a 30 day catch-up period. 

I cannot find the answer to my question.
